Scenic Jetboat Safari

Welcome to the 20 Mile River, Alaska! This tour utilizes a high-powered, professionally-driven jetboat to carry guests deep into the wild on a scenic, descriptive and hair-raising adventure!

Our jetboat disembarks at the Turnagain Arm near Portage, about seven miles south of Girdwood. Our 15-passenger van is ready to accommodate your group to the rivers edge. Once boarded, the boat zigzags upriver while you enjoy intimate views of the Alaskan wild and colorful commentary on local flora, fauna and heritage from your knowledgeable captain. The river provides an array of scenes, from deep gray channels to lush green banks to wide rocky beaches which provide expansive vistas and opportunity to get out and take a look around, go fishing or have a picnic.

Once headed downstream your captain picks up the pace and the excitement reaches a new high as we negotiate boulders, down trees and hairpin curves. As scary as that sounds, there's no need to worry. Our captain is committed to safety, holding a U.S. Merchant Marine boating license and operating under U.S. Forest Service Permit.

Reservations

Boat departures run June to mid-September. Reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Cancellations made more than one week prior to departure will be given a full refund. Cancellations made less than one week prior to departure will be charged 50% of party total. Operator reserves the right to cancel due to extreme weather or any other factor. A full refund will be provided in such cases. Note that unfortunately at this time we are unable to provide handicapped accessible entry to our jetboat.
