Scenic Jetboat Safari

Our jet boat disembarks at the Turnagain Arm near Portage, about 7 miles south of Girdwood. Your check-in location will be indicated when making a reservation. Our 15-passenger van is ready to accommodate your group to get you to the river's edge. Once boarded, the boat then travels up the 20-mile River to a turn point about 9 miles up river!

During upstream legs of the trip your driver-guide will provide expert commentary on the local flora, fauna and funky heritage of this remote area. The river has both deep channels with green banks and evidence of beaver, bear, moose and eagles as well as wider gravel sections with expansive vistas where you will have the opportunity to disembark from the jet boat and have a look around on shore for animal tracks, go fishing or have a picnic, if you have signed up for it!

On the downstream leg the captain picks up the pace and the excitement level for a thrilling ride back to the river mouth! Of course, safety is always priority...our captain holds a US Merchant Marine boating license and we operate under United States Forest Service Permit.

Boat departures run June to mid-September. Reservations are taken on a first come, first serve basis. Minimum numbers apply. Cancellations made more than 1 week prior to departure will be given a full refund. Cancellations made less than 1 week prior to departure will be charged 50% of party total. Operator reserves the right to cancel due to extreme weather or other factors. A full refund will be provided by the operator in such cases. Please note that at this time, we are unable to provide handicapped accessible entry onto our jet boats.
